The total export cargos of 65,898 tonnes comprised of 31,366 tonnes of containerised cargo; 11,700 tonnes of clinker; 9,376 tonnes of loose bulk cement; 1,871 tonnes of rice; 9,605 tonnes of brite lumps and 1,980 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 7,794 containers comprising of 4,217 containers import and 3,577 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,787 of 20's and 1,191 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 24 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 866 of 20's and 391 of 40's loaded containers while 567 of 20's and 681 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely CMA CGM Mumbai, Wan Hai-611, MT Karachi, Sea Fortune and Ocean Feather carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. SM Savannah, MOL Grandeur, STI Veneto, Gulf Petroleum-4 and Zi Jing Song carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 163,137 tonnes comprising 135,207 tonnes of import cargo and 27,930 tonnes of export cargo including 2,822 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 135,207 tonnes includes 24,833 tonnes of steel products; 8,258 tonnes of palm oil; 2,000 tonnes of LPG; 1,500 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 61,667 tonnes of coal; 1,261 tonnes of bitumen and 25,688 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 27,930 tonnes includes 27,930 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,822 containers comprising of 1,352 containers import and 1,470 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. There were four ships namely CV Torrente, CV Hansa America, MV Trammo Stanton and MT White Purl carrying containers, steel products and LPG respectively sailed out to sea on Friday afternoon.
A total number of twelve vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, coal, soyabean seeds, bitumen, steel products, palm kernel, LPG, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as fifteen vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Rigoletto, MV Royal Prince, MV Gao Yu-2, MV Spar Rigel, MV Port Macau, MV Nord Copper, MV Lietta, MV Pacific Activity, MV Valovine, MV Ocean Rose, MT Al-Huwaila, MT Gao Cheng-3, MT NCC Maha, MT Chemroad Nova and MT Maritime Gisela respectively carrying containers, bitumen, steel product, coal, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Rigoletto,, MV Spar Rigel and MV Nord Copper carrying containers, steel products and coal respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Pakistan International Bulk Terminal respectively on Friday. There are two ships namely CV MS Tiger and CV Maersk Jalan carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday.
